Obama wants to ramp up tourism efforts; he's also basking in support from a legenday LA eatery; London's Orbit Tower is being called both the modern Eiffel tower and a modern eyesore; a man in Rome should have left his 19 cats at home; and a daredevil is headed for Niagara Falls this summer for a once-in-a-lifetime stunt. White House ramping up efforts to boost tourism.

The White House has announced an increase in efforts to boost domestic and international travel for both job growth and economic growth. According to The Hill, a DC blog, they are " aiming to attract 100 million foreign tourists that would pump $250 billion into the U.S. economy by 2021, up from 62 million last year," via improvements in visa processes and using technology to help non-English speaking visitors. {The Hill}

Speaking of Obama, he's been endorsed by Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles.

Los Angeles institution Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles got a much-buzzed about visit from President Obama back in October 2011; he's one of a few Presidents to have done so. But now, in an historic and unprecedented move (none of the other Presidents got this honor), Roscoe's has renamed the Country Boy special (what Obama ate while there) the Obama special. It goes for $8.90. {TMZ}

London's Orbit Tower completed to little fanfare.

Artist Anish Kapoor revealed his Orbit Tower in London this week to very little fanfare. He's already had to defend the sculpture by reminding people that no one liked the Eiffel Tower when it was first unveiled, either. The divisive red and gray steel structure is set to be the centerpiece of the 2012 London Olympic Park, with Kapoor convinced that over time the public will come to love it. {Associated Press}

Man tries to check 19 cats onto flight, leaves with only 4.

A 44-year old man tried to 19 cats onto a flight from Rome to New York City, and now faces animal cruelty charges for abandoning 15 of them. He was told by Lufthansa that he would only be allowed to travel with 4 cats, so he simply left the remaining cats at the airport and boarded the plane. According to USA Today, "The man also reportedly sparked a bomb scare at the airport after he left behind kitty litter and other luggage." {USA Today}

Nik Wallenda to attempt high wire walk over Niagara Falls.

For the first time in more than 125 years, a high wire walk will be attempted above Niagara Falls. The state park has legislation against stunts like this, but they're making an exception for Guinness World Record holder Nik Wallenda (of the Great Wallendas, of course) who'll be balancing high above the waterfall for approximately 1,550 feet on June 15th. ABC will be airing the stunt on TV. {ABC News}
