If you travel abroad frequently, you know that a simple text or phone call can be pricey. Save on your next foreign trip by buying or unlocking a cheap cellphone with international compatibility. Once you arrive, buy a local SIM card on a pay-as-you-go plan and insert it into your phone for affordable telephone service.

Hi paris12, We've found that Verizon and Sprint aren’t the best for international travel; AT&T and T-Mobile are better bets. Hope this helps!

Could you please give a brand name example of a cheap cellphone that has international compatibility in Italy? Thanks.
