Before booking travel between cities in Europe, compare modes of transport.

Many cities are so close together that flying hardly makes sense. For instance, it may take just half an hour to fly between London and Paris, but you must factor in time spent getting to and from the airports, plus check-in time. A three-hour train ride from city center to city center might be a better alternative.

Yes very true but you have to travel by Eurostar and it can be very expensive unless you book well in advance. It can be much faster by train to travel to most other European cities eg Amsterdam and Brussels and also very reasonable in price as the trip is on land.
