Visit a farm on vacation

Agricultural tourism is a rapidly growing industry, and visits to farms can be great fun for kids and adults. Many farms invite customers to pick their own produce, cut down their own Christmas tree, or enjoy fresh food made with locally grown or produced ingredients (from ice cream to apple cider). Hayrides and petting zoos are other popular activities. In addition to checking with tourist boards for names of farms open to the public, also consult the department of the environment or agriculture wherever you’re visiting.
