If you love to explore Italy either in person or through the magic of armchair travel, you've probably read Frances Mayes's Under the Tuscan Sun or the follow-up Bella Tuscany. Both are classic accounts of expat life in Tuscany. Yet if you've every wondered whether you could do the same, ie plunk down your whole life savings on an old house in a faraway place, you haven't heard the whole story. And we want to change that!
