Travel to Paris in the best possible month
What's the best time to experience the City of Lights? Depends on who you ask. Many travelers in our Forums would argue that there is no such thing as a bad time to visit Paris (except maybe August). Nytraveler recommends May: "Weather is great, not too many tourists yet, still hotel deals to be had, long days and pretty gardens. Just avoid Labor Day (May 1) since everything is closed."
Asked in the Forums: "What do you think the best month to visit Paris is?"

Why "except maybe August"?

Many people say August is very hot and humid. Plus there are many tourists (not just US tourists) who visit in August which means it will be crowded. We are going this August. I'm hoping it will be fun anyway. It IS Paris, so it very well should be!

Thanks, we were thinking of August but with the climate that we have got used to in Sydney we should be able to handle hot and humid but it would be nicer without it. We'd be going on a coach tour that starts and ends in Paris, hopefully the driver and guide will get us through the crushes.

Just in case anyone looks back here, we didn't have any problem with the weather, it was probably just right for us and we didn't find anything too crowded. The only thing that really bothered us was the evil smell of the cigarettes that many of the locals seem to smoke.
