Pick your rail pass carefully
There are many different types of passes available for travel in Europe. If you plan to rack up miles, get a standard pass. These are available for 15 days, 21 days, 1 month, 2 months, and 3 months. You'll have to pay a supplement for certain high-speed trains. Other passes are available for travelers under 26, small groups of passengers traveling together, and travel in Eastern Europe.
