Explore Louisville's River Walk
To explore Louisville's river heritage, set aside some time to walk the 6.9-mile River Walk, which stretches west from Waterfront Park to Chickasaw Park. In some spots the paved pathway is right down by the water, and in others it winds through bosky parkland; you'll forget you're so close to a city. Best of all is the overlook near 26th street of the McApline Lock & Dam, where coal barges and passenger boats are eased around the Falls of the Ohio.
