Anticipate having to check carry-ons
Carry-on bags can be no larger than 45 linear inches. Not much will help your case if yours is simply too big or if your luggage has been selected for checking because your flight is full and the overhead compartments stuffed. You'll probably feel more comfortable cooperating if you've put a sturdy luggage tag on your bag and segregated all of your special items--jewelry, medication, and paperwork--in one section of the bag for easy removal/
