Include a "Kid's Choice" day in your itinerary

"Make sure your children feel part of the experience. On trips of a week or longer, we set aside a day each week to do what our daughter wants---we'll never forget that truly awful visit to the London Dungeon. But her knowing she has that day of her choice means we rarely have problems where she feels she's being "dragged" to museums, galleries, historical sites, etc." -- shared by Fodor's member dfr4848
