Many cruise lines now allow you to book your shore excursions in advance, but many people still wait until they board. That's a mistake. The longer you wait, the more likely it is that you will not be able to take the excursion of your choice. Just don't book anything you're unsure of: shore excursions are usually nonrefundable.
