Consider Commuter Trains

Amtrak may be the most popular service for intercity travel in the U.S., but many regions also have more extensive and less pricey commuter rail service---especially New England and the Mid-Atlantic states. It's is a great way to get from New York City to some of the great getaways on Long Island and in the Hudson River Valley.
