New Digs for Philadelphia Theater Company

October 3, 2007

The Philadelphia Theatre Company, a fixture on the Philadelphia arts scene for more than 30 years, has a brand-new home. The $30 million Suzanne Roberts Theatre, situated on the Avenue of the Arts, between Lombard and Pine Streets, will showcase the company's latest works, starting with a production of Sondheim's Being Alive, from October 23 through December 3. A project of Kieran Timberlake Associates LLP, the new performing arts space has 365 seats in a traditional proscenium auditorium as well as a two-story welcome lobby and reception area that offers sweeping views of the city. There are also cutting-edge lighting and sound facilities for educational workshops and readings. You can call the box office at 215-985-0420 for a full schedule and more information.
