Travel Advisory: Myanmar

Civil unrest continues to engulf parts of Myanmar as security forces there attempt to subdue pro-democracy protestors. Police have cordoned off the city of Rangoon, where most of the protests are taking place. The BBC News reports that the situation is tense and that a palpable sense of fear pervades the city.

As of Saturday afternoon, the Los Angeles Times reports that security forces have cut Internet and cellphone services in an attempt to control the flow of images coming out of Rangoon and other cities in Myanmar that show the brutality of the crackdown by security forces.
