Planet Hollywood Resort Takes Over Where Aladdin Left Off

June 26, 2007

As a restaurant concept, Planet Hollywood might have failed elsewhere (the company has filed for bankruptcy protection twice), but Las Vegas remains the place where legends go to die. Not that Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino has any geezers in it. The spanking new 2000-room resort, which took over the Aladdin's spot on the Strip in April, has upgraded everything to appeal to over 18 sensibilities, from retail (Victoria's Secret) to entertainment (magician Hans Klok with Pamela Anderson as his lovely assistant). Standard rooms come with an armoire, a 27-inch TV, a safe, oversized soaking tub, seamless shower, and marble vanity. Things get cushier (and pricier) in the Strip and Panorama Suites. It's not cheap, but weekday rates are reasonable, depending on the season.
