Surrounded by seemingly endless landscape, Great Fish River Lodge is one of South Africa's most unusual high-end safari escapes. As opposed to the somewhat ubiquitous luxury tented camp, this is a lodge in the most solid sense of the word. Stone walls, wooden walkways, and thatch roofs make up the main building and nine private suites, all of which overlook the river where Cape otters swim and graceful kudu come to drink.
