how low do NY - london airfares go late dec
hi everyone,
i'm looking to book a ticket to fly from NY to london on december 29 and then to fly back to boston on jan 14 - problem is i have no idea what prices are reasonable. lately i've been searching expedia, orbitz, travelocity etc. incessantly and getting between 540 and 560 as the lowest prices - are they likely to get lower than this, or should i just book now?
thanks in advance for any help,
noam

You have to remember, there are about $200 in taxes and surcharges on NY-London tickets and this has surged recently....if you want to think about it....$540 represents what would be advertised as $170 each way based on round trip with taxes and surcharges extra...how much lower can it go, who really knows...29 December is still holiday season...late January might be better.

There are non-stop flights on www.1800flyeruope.com for $518.
I think you should shop like the dickens and book ASAP. Fares are more likely to go up than down.

I'm actually going to London that same time period and purchased a ticket from Philly to Heathrow for about $630 on British Airways. Those prices seem pretty good and if I were you I'd buy now! Enjoy your trip!!
