Hotel Becquer - Seville, Location

Comments for this hotel appear to be positive.

Location has been described as very good.

Yet when I try to find it on a map it doesn't appear to be near anything.

Cathedral, Santa Cruz, Serpies, etc

Where am I going wrong?

Thanks.

The Becquer Hotel is on Reyes Católicos street, between the Isabel II Bridge - popularly known as Triana Bridge- and the Magdalena Square. It's a 5 minute walk to Sierpes street through the main shopping district and a 10 minute or less walk to the Cathedral and Alcazar.
Just around the corner is the riverwalk and the Triana area across the bridge, with a great area of riverfront cafes in Betis street.

Olga,

You make this sound like a great location.

How long a walk is it to the Santa Cruz area.

If I had a choice between Hotel Becquer and Casas de la Juderia how would I compare them?

Thanks.

The Santa Cruz quarter begins at the Cathedral and Alcazar, so 10 minutes.

Juderia has more flair, it's a very pretty complex of old buildings restored, with lots of ambience, pretty courtyards and a nice lounge with live piano music in the evenings. I haven't stayed at the Becquer, but it looks like it has less character. On the other hand, it is usually cheaper than Juderia and has easier access if you are coming by car -get directions in advance, regardless-.

Hi Olga: You are so knowledgeable. Have been to Seville many yrs ago. This is my first solo trip. What is the best way to get to Seville via train from Paris? Do I have to go thru Madrid. I dont want to pay up fron thru a hotel reservation site as I dont have a specific itinerary. I couldnt find the web site of the Hotel Amadeus. Can you share? Thanks? In an arear safe for a woman alone. Thanks, gracia.

Hi, Gracia!
Thanks, but I actually just know a little about the area I usually move around the most. I'm just getting started in this, I wish I was like Maribel! Now that's knowledge.

I think you do have to go through Madrid to come from Paris.
The website for the Amadeus is
www.hotelamadeussevilla.com
I think the location is great for a woman travelling alone or anybody really. Although the hotel is in a little alley, it is a very frequented area at all hours, specially spring through fall, with lots of nice sidewalk cafes all around and all the major sites walking distance from the Hotel.

I would make reservations in major towns like Seville, unless you are coming in July or August (low season), then you can play it by ear easily.
