Photos from Pacific Grove {Monterey area} trip
I am getting lazy, so for now here are the pictures. Report will follow. There is video on here with sound, so turn on your speakers and listen to the waves.

Hi, I grew up in Santa Cruz and San Francisco and am still here. Your photos and video really touched me and made me re-appreciate why I stay. Especially loved the otters and the seals. Thanks so much for sharing these. Looks like I need to get down to Monterey this summer.

Living in the southwest offers many wonderful vistas and spectacular scenery, but it is landlocked and for a died-in-the-wool east coaster, it is hard not being near salt water [or any water for that matter].
I really fell in love with SF and the penninsula.

Deb I completely understand. I have always lived by the water until I moved to the southern end of the Sacramento Valley. I am very happy here but my heart yearns to be by the shoreline, watching and hearing the waves and looking out over the water.

Hi Deb
Now this is what I miss about living in California: the pounding of the surf, the seagulls flying, the crisp ocean air. Ahhh, your pictures are so beautiful!
I hear you about being land-locked. Austin is dead-center in Texas, and the closest beach we have is in Corpus Christi (about 4 hours away We have lots of lakes, but it's just not the same as the sounds of the surf.
Wow, I feel refreshed this morning. I could listen to those videos all day long....sigh...

Thanks for sharing the pics. I, too, can't get enough of the beach and listening to the crashing waves. This land-locked beach girl yearns for the ocean, too!
Glad you had such a great trip, Debi.

Oh Deb, your photos are great. I really enjoyed seeing them. I really can't wait til Sept to see it all for myself.
I loved the sound of the waves.
Did you put your new camera on video? Is that how you did it? I haven't tried that yet.
Thanks for posting. ....just great.

kodi - I had no idea what I was doing with the video. There was a setting, I turned the dial, pushed the shutter and voila! Also, don't think I realized there was also sound. Hence some of the comments were recording unwittingly!

March 23, 2008: Great shots! I live in Pacific Grove and made the walk that you show in your pictures this morning. This is a great little town and it is too often confused with Monterey or Carmel. Glad you had a good trip.
