Signing In

I'm a member, but I can't sign in.

If you're a brand-new member, you might not have activated your account. Click the link included in your confirmation e-mail before attempting to log in. If you did not receive this e-mail, please write to us at forums@fodors.com.

If you've already activated your account and are having trouble signing in, you might be entering an incorrect member name or password. Keep in mind that you can sign in with your e-mail address as your member name and that passwords are case sensitive. If you can't remember your password, click "Forgot my password." After you provide the answer to your security question, we will send you a new automated password in an e-mail. After signing in with that password, click "Account settings" at the top of the page to change your password.

I joined Fodors.com but never received a confirmation e-mail.

Shortly after joining Fodors.com, you should receive a confirmation e-mail from us containing an activation link that you must click before you can start participating. You might find this e-mail in your spam folder. If you cannot find the e-mail, write to registration@fodors.com, and we will gladly activate your account for you.

I registered but can't remember my member name, password, or the answer to my security question.

Please e-mail us at registration@fodors.com, and we'll help you out.

I requested a new password but never received it.

Sorry about that. Please e-mail us at registration@fodors.com, and we'll send it to you.

I requested a new password, but it went to an old e-mail address.

Please e-mail us at registration@fodors.com. We'll send you the new password and help you update your account settings.

I received an activation link, but when I click on it nothing happened.

The activation link can be clicked only once. If after clicking it you are not redirected to Fodors.com to sign in, you can sign in by going to www.fodors.com/login/.

I entered the password you sent me, but it doesn't work.

The password should work, but it can be hard to read. We suggest copying and pasting the password into the sign-in field. Be sure that your computer's cookies are not automatically entering your old password. If the new password is still not working, shoot us an e-mail at registration@fodors.com, and we'll send you another one.

Is it possible to have two or more screen names registered with one e-mail address?

It is not possible to have two member names assigned to the same e-mail address. We discourage members from posting under multiple member names. If you have questions about this policy, please e-mail us at forums@fodors.com.

Why has my account been suspended?

If you receive a notice that your account has been suspended when you sign in, you have probably posted some form of advertising or something offensive on the site. Suspensions vary in length, depending on the nature of the offense. If you have a question regarding the status of your account, please e-mail us at registration@fodors.com. How do I update my account settings, including my e-mail address?

After signing in, click "Account settings" at the top of any page on Fodors.com. You can also access this menu from your profile page. Click your member name and select "Edit my profile." On the right side of the next screen you will see a link to your account-settings page.
