What is a Fodor's PDF Travel Guide?

Sometimes you don't want to take the whole book with you when you travel. We've made it easy for you to choose the chapters you want and skip the ones you don't. For select Fodor's titles, you can buy individual chapters in a convenient PDF format for as little as $1.99. Leaving in a hurry? Good news: the chapters are available to you immediately.

How do I download a Fodor's PDF Travel Guide?

Select the chapters you want to purchase, and add them to your cart. After you complete your purchase, you will receive an email confirmation. The email will contain a separate link for each chapter you've purchased. Click on the links in your email confirmation to open each PDF Travel Guide. You'll need a PDF reader, such as Adobe Reader, to open the PDF. To download or update Adobe Reader for free, visit adobe.com. Once the PDF is open, you can save it to your computer. You may download each chapter a maximum of five times. The links will expire after five downloads.

I'm having difficulty accessing my Fodor's PDF Travel Guide. What should I do?

Your computer's operating system (Windows, MacOS, etc.) and your Web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.) determine what happens when you click on the links in the confirmation email. Usually, a dialogue box will ask whether you want to open or save the file. If you're having trouble opening the file, try saving it instead. In some instances, and especially on a Mac, clicking the link from the email might prompt the file to automatically download to your default download location, such as your Downloads folder or desktop. Please check to see if the file has been saved in that location.

What is the best way to print a Fodor's PDF Travel Guide?

The PDF Travel Guides are set up as two-page spreads that fit perfectly on letter-size (8.5 x 11) paper in landscape orientation. When you print from your PDF reader, it should default to this optimal setting. If necessary, you can adjust the setting from the Print dialogue box, or you might need to go to the Page Setup command from the File menu. Often, the first page of a PDF chapter is on the right side of the book. If so, the first page will be by itself on the first page of your printout, and subsequent pages will print as two-page spreads.

Can I read my Fodor's PDF Travel Guides on a device other than a computer?

Any device that can view PDF files will display your Fodor's PDF. You can download the latest version of a PDF reader from adobe.com and refer to your device's instructions for more information. Alternatively, you can download the PDF file on your computer; email it to yourself as an attachment; and then open the email message on your device. If in doubt, download one of the free PDFs for the destination you are considering and try that first.

How much do Fodor's PDF Travel Guides cost?

Chapters available for purchase are priced as low as $1.99. Prices are listed to the right of the chapter name.

Each book also has free chapters that provide general information about the book's content and the destination itself. These free downloads will help you decide which chapters to buy.
