Seabourn Legend Review
About This Ship
Cruise Ship Overview
Launched in 1992 as Royal Viking Queen for the upscale Royal Viking Line, Seabourn Legend was acquired by Seabourn Cruise Line 1996. Despite her history as a Royal Viking ship, Seabourn Legend was built by the same shipyard as her sister ships Seabourn Pride and Seabourn Legend, and the three are nearly identical (though one difference is the lack of double sinks in Seabourn Legend’s bathrooms). Seabourn Legend received an extensive refurbishment in 2010.
The height of absolute luxury, Seabourn’s megayachts surround passengers in comfort and understated style punctuated by polished brass accents and etched-glass panels. Public rooms are intimate but not cramped, although predinner cocktail gatherings tend to strain the available room in the popular Club bar.
The relative amount of shipwide space devoted to passengers is among the highest in the cruise industry, and the public areas and deck spaces were designed so that no one aboard feels crowded. Fresh flower arrangements add a gracious touch to the classic decor of every public room.
After ambitious programs of extensive refurbishment, each of Seabourn's yacht-like vessels emerged from dry dock in shipshape.
