The line's namesake ship was originally designed to be Sitmar's Fair Majesty but became Star Princess when Princess Cruise Line acquired Sitmar. Before joining Ocean Village in 2003, it was redesigned to appeal to the young, trendy British market, which tends to be a bit nonconventional. Interiors are bright and cheerful, and there's no stuffiness in the decor of the public spaces or the cabins. The pool area is particularly interesting, with structures devoted to contemporary circus performances.
