Originally built for now-defunct Homes Lines, this ship sailed for Premier Cruise Line as a "Big Red Boat" before that cruise line declared bankruptcy; she joined MSC in 1997 and is the largest ship in the line's "classic" Italian fleet. The lifeboats lining the highest reaches of her superstructure give away her age. Interiors fare somewhat better with lively color combinations. The main dining room is located low in the ship, but other public rooms are on the uppermost decks and are bright and cheerful.
