Hurtigruten: Polarlys

Overview

One of six contemporary ships that Hurtigruten brought on line from 1993 to 1997, the Polarlys is a small-scale cruise ship with a modest array of public rooms and facilities. Although relatively small and simple, it's still a stylish ship, furnished with mahogany paneling, polished brass, and a choice selection of Norwegian contemporary art, including sculptures, carvings, paintings, and glass art. And of course, Mother Nature, the ship's entertainer, provides an unparalleled view from every quarter of the ship.
