Overview

Hurtigruten introduced this series of Millennium ships in 2002 and 2003 to modernize its fleet and bring it into the 21st century. Finnmarken is beautifully appointed in art nouveau style reminiscent of the first Coastal Voyage ships. Eleven Norwegian artists have put the finishing touches on the interior with drawings, watercolors, oil paintings, charcoal drawings, lithographs, and sculptures.

The modern design of Midnastol employs the extensive use of natural materials. The decor is a celebration of the extended summer enjoyed in Norway and the midnight sun, for which the ship is named.

A winter theme expressed in wood and stone (all from Norway) dominates Trollfjord interiors. All artwork was created by Norwegian artists.

Each ship has an enclosed observation lounge with commanding views forward, as well as plenty of outside deck space. Aboard each ship you'll also find fitness centers with saunas and massage rooms. All three ships have Internet centers. While Finnmarken is the only one without a library, it has the advantage of a swimming pool, which the others lack. Passenger capacity can vary widely, depending on how many are on board for the entire journey and how many are hopping from port to port.
