Shore Excursions
Shore excursions in Hawaii range from sedate bus tours to zipping through a forest canopy high above waterfalls. Golfers will find challenging courses throughout the islands, and some of the world's finest sport fishing awaits in the waters off Kona. Whale-watching season is at its peak from December to April. Hiking up Diamond Head, ocean kayaking, and viewing the Na Pali Coast from a zodiac or a helicopter are only some of the adventures afforded visitors. The most worthwhile helicopter trips are over Kauai. There are biking, sailing, and snorkeling opportunities at all island stopovers, and the beaches are perfect for sunning and relaxation. A great way to see the islands' treasures is by rental car, especially if you want to explore the winding road to Hana on Maui, or see the sunrise from atop Haleakala. One of the most moving experiences is a visit to the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor.
