Sculptural elements in the atriums are a real departure from the ones in the more sedate lobbies of earlier ships. The pipe organ in particular makes a lasting impression.

Similar in layout to Statendam-class vessels but slightly larger, Volendam and Zaandam introduced playful art and interior design theme elements to Holland America Line's classic vessels. Triple-deck atriums are distinguished by a fantastic, fiber-optic-lighted Murano glass sculpture.
