Public Areas & Facilities

Although this vessel is not huge, the public rooms are quite spacious; the Main Salon and Dining Salon are large enough to comfortably seat all passengers at once. Decor is elegant in its simplicity and surprisingly non-nautical. Instead, it's modern and sleek, utilizing the hues of the sea, sky, and sandy beaches. Oriental rugs cover polished teak floors in the reception area, and in the large, sun-splashed library, you'll find 1,200 books from which to select as well as computers to access the Internet.

Balinese dream beds are the ideal spot to relax by day, either for sunbathing or reading beneath an umbrella. A telescope mounted at the ship's stern is handy for spotting land and other vessels at sea.

Restaurants

The formal restaurant offers open-seating dining during scheduled hours. For a more casual setting, the Topside restaurant has outdoor seating for breakfast and lunch -- either with table service or from a small buffet -- plus scheduled dinners alfresco (the indoor restaurant is also open for those who do not wish to dine outside).

What Works & What Doesn't

Exceptional food and service in a comfortable, yet sophisticated yachting atmosphere are the allure of these diminutive ships. No smoking is allowed indoors, which is either refreshing or an annoyance, depending on your point of view (and habits).

Cocktail glasses (and even a corkscrew) are provided in suite cabinets; however, there's a charge for wines and spirits ordered for your suite. This is somewhat odd considering the open-bar policy throughout the ships and the complimentary soft drinks, bottled water, and beer that are provided in passengers' mini-refrigerators.

Accommodations

Layout: Every stateroom is outside with an ocean view; every cabin has a sitting area, and there's plenty of drawer space for storage. A curtain can be drawn between the bed and sitting area for privacy. Bathrooms are marble-clad and have large, glass-enclosed showers with twin shower heads that make up for the tiny overall size of the bathrooms.

Amenities: All cabins contain an entertainment center with a large, flat-screen TV, CD, and DVD system, broadband Internet connection, personalized stationery, and a wet bar stocked with complimentary beer, soft drinks, and bottled water. A lighted, magnifying mirror and hair dryer are at a vanity table. Beds are dressed with Belgian linens and your choice of synthetic or down pillows and a duvet or woolen blankets. Bathrooms are stocked with deluxe Bulgari shampoo, shower gel, soap, and lotion. Turkish cotton bathrobes and slippers are provided for use during the cruise.

Good to Know: The single Owner's suite has a living room, dining area, separate bedroom, a bathroom with a sea view (as well as a separate tub and shower), and a guest bathroom. Commodore Club staterooms are basically double staterooms with one side configured as a sitting-dining area room; they feature two identical bathrooms with showers. One stateroom is designed for wheelchair accessibility.

Favorites

How'd They Do That?: The weekly barbeque held on a deserted stretch of beach would be a highlight even if it didn't include champagne and caviar. Servers are somehow able to do forward flips in the surf while gripping champagne bottles and never spill a drop.

It's Your Yacht: There's a good selection of music CDs at the Top of the Yacht Bar, but feel free to bring some from home if you have favorites for listening and dancing.

Best Added Value: The single stateroom (215) that is designed for accessibility has a huge bathroom and can be booked by anyone unless it's required by a person with mobility challenges.

Our Favorite Spot for a Nightcap: The Top of the Yacht Bar is the sociable choice; however, for a bit of privacy, take your brandy to one of the secluded alcoves on either side of the open-air Topsiders Restaurant.

Best Eye Opener: Coffee and pastries are set out at the Top of the yacht Bar for early risers.
