Overview
Built for Cunard Line's Caribbean cruises and launched as Cunard Princess in 1977, this small ship has sailed as MSC Rhapsody since 1995. Well suited for warm-weather voyages, the outdoor spaces are more than adequate. Interiors are cozy and comfortable with some multi-purpose lounges -- for instance, the Top Sail Lounge houses both a piano bar and the casino; the disco/nightclub has both indoor and outdoor spaces for dancing. While there is no wrap-around promenade deck, as was often found on ships of this vintage, a track for walking and jogging encircles the pool area.
Restaurants
The formal restaurant serves open-seating breakfast and lunch; dinner is served in two traditional seatings with assigned tables and tablemates. The buffet is a casual dining choice for breakfast and lunch, and sometimes even dinner, with indoor and outside seating. Coffee and barbecue are available adjacent to the buffet and outdoor seating area. Room service is available for a nominal charge.
Accommodations
Decorated in primary colors, all cabins are comfortable, yet they are all quite small by comparison to most modern cruise ships. Suites have a bathtub in the bathroom, adequate storage space, a small refrigerator, a personal safe, and a sitting area. All accommodation categories have a vanity-desk, TV, closet and storage space, and a hair dryer. Bathrooms are supplied with basic toiletries. There are no wheelchair-accessible cabins on this ship.
