"I wasn't sure if I was physically and mentally prepared for this solo hike in the middle of summer. After an hours drive on a dirt road, it was nearly a three mile hike to reach "The Wave". The climb up the sand dune was a killer! When I arrived, I took an abundance of photos. It may look smooth at a distance, but up close, you can see it is actually quite rough and difficult to walk on. As I headed back, I thought of how small "The Wave" actually is. At first, I was feeling disappointed, then I remembered: sometimes, it's about the journey, not the destination. This is a great trek through the desert!"
