Vegas Vic
Vegas Vic is the icon of the original Las Vegas located in the Fremont Street promenade. It is the old Las Vegas vs. the new Las Vegas and a piece of today's Americana when Las Vegas was a cowtown.

Bridge Construction
For us and so many others a visit to Vegas includes the awe inspiring Hoover Dam. This was taken during the still ongoing construction of the massive bridge for future crossing of the Dam. Jaw dropping beauty.

So much fun, so little time
My friend and I have been visiting Las Vegas at least once a year since 2002. We went with several friends in 2006 and did many, many things because Vegas is 24 hour action. However, we finally pooped out and had to sit for awhile to rest up. We did revive to continue our adventure through Las Vegas.

"You're Really Only Very Small"
No trip to Las Vegas would be complete without a one day excursion to the nearby Grand Canyon. It was a very cold and windy, but very sunny November afternoon, and I think the photo pretty much says it all. To be standing in such a breathtaking spot, one of the Seven Wonders Of The World was truly a highlight of my Las Vegas trip, and a memorable, eye-opening personal experience. No photos or words can describe the beauty of such a vast and tranquil place. George Harrison said it best: "you're really only very small!" Please make it your priority to visit the Grand Canyon on your future trip to Las Vegas. Take a break from the noise and lights of the strip, and escape to a place as nature intended it to be. You won't be sorry!

Summer of Love on Fremont Street
This trio of party-ers perfectly symbolizes what Vegas has been over the years. No matter how glamourous some of the hotels have become on the Strip, Fremont Street is where it all started - and these three represent that! We were there during the Summer of Love celebration this past July.

Fix me the biggest drink you've got!
Vegas is all about having a good time, laughing, and living it up. When I saw this drink, I had saw the perfect photo opp. People laughed while walking by. Obviously wishing they had thought of it first ;)

Paris and Planet Hollywood
On previous trips to Vegas, I had tried to capture pictures of the glitz and glamour of the city. On a recent trip for a conference though, I captured this picture and was immediately awed by the contrast of casino lights against the early evening sky. It reminded me how beautiful and surreal Las Vegas can be and that on any given day here, anyone can find enjoyment without ever touching a poker chip or slot machine.

Loved every minute!
The weather was hot, the pool was so refreshing and the palms trees and little wispy clouds added to the fun of this day. The contrast of the blue sky and water to the orange lounge chairs was really fun.

January 1st 2009
We stayed at TI last New Year's. It was one of a couple of hotels that even had any fireworks. The Strip was very disappointing for everyone; but my wife did snap this one great photo. I understand this year Vegas will return to all the hotels shooting off fireworks.

The Irruption of Nature into Modernity
It seemed almost ludicrous that volcanoes could somehow exist safely and inconspicuously alongside creations of modernity. As I felt the waves of heat radiating as plumes of fire burst from underground, it struck me that man has conjured the great illusion of his ability to harness and control nature to suit his own ends – a manifestation of a timeless desire to exert influence over his environment. The volcano, however fiery its outbursts, its raging roar, was like a chained beast, only able to vent its frustrations at the command of man, every fifteen minutes. It was timed to perfection – nothing was left to chance, nothing left to nature. This was mankind’s act of defiance, directed for consumption by fellow humans as a glowing symbol of man’s ambition breaking free of limitations set by nature. And I partook in that single, fleeting moment of pride – however illusory it might seem.

Between a rock and a hard place!
After seeing our friend star in "Mama Mia" at Mandalay Bay, he told us we must drive out to see the amazing Valley of Fire. We love to hike, so we gave it a shot -- OMG we were not prepared for the majesty this site possesses. The rock formations and vistas are some of the most stunning we have ever seen. This shot with the most beautiful light shinhing between the two formations really moved us!

My Daughters 21st B-Day
I took my daughter Brigitte to Vegas for her 21st B Day, & on the last night there I splurged on a VIP table & "bottle service" at Cathouse. Halfway through the night Chris Angel & his entourage come in & are at the next table. She walks right past his bodyguards & walks up to him, taps him on the shoulder & says "It's my 21st B Day will you take a picture with me?" He was so sweet & gracious. She still talks about it 1 1/2 years later. A week in Vegas in Luxor Suite $2000, Bottle Service at Cathouse $1000, Picture with Chris Angel PRICELESS!!!

Sunset on the strip
Four girls on spring break their senior year of college... no idea what vegas had in store for us. Looking back I have a few really beautiful pictures, like this one, in a place where you wouldn't expect to find something so beautiful. It still awes me every time I see it - more so than the pictures of us at shows, buffets, gambling, doing a fountain "power hour" at the bellagio, or drinking with strangers we met on the trip. Vegas might be about fun and letting loose and stories you don't share, but it's also an incredibly beautiful place - an oasis in the desert.
