Show Us Your Florida Side Photo Contest

Show Us Your Chicago Recent Entries

Whether you call Chicago your "sweet home" or you're just visiting, the Windy City has something for everyone. In fact, this city is home to so many first-class architectural examples, performances, and activities, that you'll wonder why it's called the Second City. We want to see what makes Chicago special to you. So give it your best shots. Send us your photos of Chicago for your chance to win the grand prize: Your photo will be published in the Fodor's Chicago guide, and you'll receive four all-access passes to Shedd Aquarium, Chicago's No. 1 cultural attraction. It's your chance to meet more than 32,500 animals that call Chicago—and Shedd Aquarium—home. Ten runners-up will receive a Fodor's Chico bag and a Fodor's guide of their choice.

Enter "Show Us Your Chicago" today—the contest closes July 31, 2009.

Laying Beneath a Plaid Blanket

Laying Beneath a Plaid Blanket

During my first visit to Chicago last summer, the Pavilion was so inviting. Even though a concert wasn't playing at the time, you couldn't help but enjoy the green lawn. Laying beneath the steel patchwork felt like the sky was patterned into plaid pieces. I love how the architecture in Millennium Park makes you feel like you're experiencing the art, even when it's as simple as laying on the grass!

My third trip to my fave city. First trip alone to ORD. It always beckons me--new, old, all of it. Chicago Skyline from Lake Michigan

Chicago Skyline from Lake Michigan

Seeing Chicago's skyline from a touring boat on Lake Michigan during my husband's and my October 2008 visit to the city was unquestionably a thrilling moment. Although wind and rain pelted us, we were so incredibly awestruck by the picture in front of us that we barely noticed the quickly changing weather.

While enjoying a martini on the 96th floor of the Hancock Centre, I went to visit the ladies room to find the most fabulous view of Navy Pier from its huge windows. Needless to say, I ran outto grab my camera without going to the washroom!

Chicago Skyline from the Lake

Chicago Skyline from the Lake

This shot of the Chicago skyline from the Lake was a favorite of my best friend, who captained this boat, taught me to sail, and passed away last year. This was taken on our last sail together, though we didn't know it was our last at the time.

Fireworks from the Sear's Tower

Fireworks from the Sear's Tower

I only visit Chicago in the summer around July 4th, so I am always reminded of fireworks in Chicago. One year it was Fireworks from a cruise on Lake Michigan, this year it was the fireworks on Navy Pier from the Sear's Tower. It was quite strange and fun because we were actually above the fireworks looking down on them, which does not happen very often. A sight I won't forget.

I took this photo while waiting in line to ride the ferris wheel at Navy Pier. It was all lit up and beautiful at night. I was in Chicago on my honeymoon, so this was a nice, romantic ride for us.

Family Reflection

Family Reflection

We visit my in-laws in Chicago every year during the holidays. This picture was taken in 2007, and it was the first time we had seen "The Bean." Though it was smudgy with condensation on that day, we spent quite a while taking reflected photos in many different combinations.
