Laying Beneath a Plaid Blanket
During my first visit to Chicago last summer, the Pavilion was so inviting. Even though a concert wasn't playing at the time, you couldn't help but enjoy the green lawn. Laying beneath the steel patchwork felt like the sky was patterned into plaid pieces. I love how the architecture in Millennium Park makes you feel like you're experiencing the art, even when it's as simple as laying on the grass!

Chicago Skyline - A Different Point of View
We rented bikes at Millenium Park. We rode south to Museum Campus and beyond and saw the quinessential Chicago skyline. Then we rode north to North Avenue Beach for a view of the "backside" of the skyline! It felt like we were the only ones in Chicago from this outcropping into Lake Michigan.

Captured during my first visit Chicago just one month ago, this photo says so much to me about the Windy City. My third trip to my fave city. First trip alone to ORD. It always beckons me--new, old, all of it. Oprah, Miracle Mile, the BEST pizza, baseball, Lakeshore Dr, corn cob bldg--there's a feeling I get in this city like no other. It's safe, it's dynamic, it's a vacation any time of year. Looking down on Chicago
For a spring weekend, my husband and I spent time revisiting many firsts - his first apartment, his first job location in the Sears tower and creating our own together - Millenium Park, Hancock Tower, Blackbird, Georgia O'Keefe at the Art Institute. The perspective of the picture helped remind us of the role in American history Chicago has played, sprawling, rooted, reaching for the sky, at the center of it all.
