Zip Line Excursion

My wife and I are taking our first trip to Alaska. We are taking a cruise and have booked several excursions in Haines, Juneau, and Ketchikan. We were wondering if anyone has done the zip lines over the forest in Ketchikan and if so was it a fun experience?

Thanks

Our friends did the zip line last fall and loved it. Said it's a "must do". My husband and I are planning a trip for late June 08 and will be flying into Juneau especially for this adventure. I can't wait as I'm the adventure type. Our first trip to Alaska as well. We decided to fly and then rent a car so we are free to see and go where we want.

Have fun on your trip.

Renting a car in SE Alaska takes a lot of planning to make it worth it ...

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who could compare the Juneau vs. Ketchikan zips.

... an interesting thing, however, is that Juneau is one of the areas with Google street view maps, offering 360-degree views from main of the streets and roads.

If you like Juneau, or are headed there, it's fun to check out. Do a Google map and hit street view ...

Did the zip in Ketchikan and loved it. Not for those afraid of heights. You are in a chest/hip harness, not a seat. saw a bear on the way up.

Ziplining is Fabulous. Did it twice in Costa Rica. However, Zip Lining excursions are cropping up everywhere and you will always able to have it available. I would take an excursion that is very Alaskan and wait for zip lining on another trip.

We did the Zipline in Juneau last summer and loved it. We were part of a mixed group, there were several senior citizens, 2 young couples, and a family with teenagers. Everyone had a good time. I would definatly go on it again and encourage others to try it.
