Zion Park Shuttle Question

Anyone know if you take the shuttle through Zion, do you also pay the $20 fee for your car? Not sure how this works, or do you drive your car in, pay then get on the shuttle for free? Can you pick up shuttle outside the park from one of the hotels? Thanks.

You are going to pay the $20 to enter the park no matter how you go in. There is no additional charge for the shuttle which is very convenient and runs often.

You can pick up the shuttle in town. There are a couple of pick up points. It then deposites you outside a main gate where you pay the $20 or show your park pass. You then board another shuttle to go the rest of the way into the canyon. You can get off or on at any of several regular stops.

placeu2 gave you all the info. The only thing I'll add is the Zion Shuttles are free and that's for both inside and outside the park.

If you are going to be going to a lot of the National Parks in the area, you might want to invest in a National Park Pass that cost $50 and is good for one year from month of purchase. If you are going also to Bryce and Grand Canyon, then you will save money.

placeu2 and Utahtea: Do you have to pay $20 for every day you go into Zion park? How much is Bryce? I have two days at Zion in May and then one day to Bryce. I never thought about entrance fees til this post.

I am not sure if it daily or not. Bryce has the same admittance charge as does GC and Lake Mead, Arches and many more.

I spent the $50. Go to 3 parks and you are money ahead. Even if you don't "save" money doing it that way, you are making a contribution to our Natl. Park system. $$ well spent.

The $20 fee is good for 7 days, but only at the NP that it was issued. The $50 annual NP pass is good for all NPs.

To emd1,

As chitowngirl said, the $20 park pass is good for 7 days. Bryce Park pass is also $20 and good for 7 days.

If you are going to be going to any other National parks, National Monuments, National Historical Sites with in a year you would probably be better off getting the National Park Pass for $50. You can purchase them online or at the first park you enter.

I don't remember all the places you are going, but if the Grand Canyon is one of them it is also $20 for 7 days and you will save $10 by getting the National park pass.

Thanks very much, Utahtea, placeu, and chitowngirl. I am only going to Zion and Bryce, but will get the annual pass to hopefuly use later this year. And I like placeu's nice point about supporting the parks.

If you order the pass on-line you can save $5 by typing KROGER in the promo code box on the upper right side of your screen.

If you buy the annual pass, check out local places that are included - we were surprised at places close to our home that we could use the pass at (beaches, etc.) that we had never thought of as being in the National Parks system.
