Yosemite activities

My husband and I will be at Yosemite for 3 days in early July. What activities besides hiking do you recommend? What about the mule rides and guided bus tours in the park?

We did the 2 hour bus tour of the Valley, with our young granddaughter, and it was great!!! Plenty of time at stops to take pictures, very entertaining, intelligent guide. Have fun, smile at the bears!

There is the Ansel Adams gallery. Or maybe a raft trip down the Merced River. Just south of the Park there is a narrow gauge railroad that takes a nice trip into the back country.

The tram tour is very good - we have been on it twice and enjoyed it both times. It is a good way to get acquainted with the valley. The Ansel Adams gallery is good too, and right behind that there is a Miwok indian cultural display. That is very good too.

We also like to ride bikes in the valley - everything is pretty flat and there are some really good paths, so it is easy and fun.

Mirror Lake is good for swimming - small with a nice sandy bottom.

We enjoyed the open tram tour of the valley. We also did the tram tour of the Mariposa Grove of Sequoias. You can also hike to the Mariposa grove, or ride the tram up and hike back.

For horseback riding, we did a guided trail ride south of the park, near the Tenaya Lodge. It was less crowded than the stable inside the park.

A ride up to Glacier Point is magnificent, also.

I second a bike-ride in the valley. I not crazy about bikes, but riding in the valley was great. The path is quite flat and the scenery is breath-taking.
