By Fall 2009, you can bring any size liquids but you still have to have it in a separate bag to be screened. By 2010, you won't have to do that. They have improved screening equipment that can determine dangerous liquids. For COO passengers this is really great news.

Trip Ideas
That is great news. Just flew to SF recently and we did not have to take the ziplocks out to show them as we have in the past. I forgot a water bottle in my handbag and it was spotted with the screening equipment.
It will be wonderful to carry on large size liquids again.
Will that mean I can bring wine on board
?
how about aerosols? i totally spaced the other day and added a can of Pssst at last minute- lost it right away and that stuff is hard to find!!
From this article, it doesn't sound like the lift is set in stone yet... Don't get your hopes up.

Oh, these are great news for everybody!
Can you please post a link to the news article?
That would be fabulous. This liquid restriction can be such a pain.
I wonder if the seperate bag has to be clear, or if you can use a regular toiletry bag and have them inspect that. I guess time will tell.
Psssst?? Wow, I didn't know they still made that stuff!
LOL Pssst
fabulous news!
what is pssst?
So I don't have to smuggle in a liter of Bailey's in my mouth anymore?

Alohaaaaa a'bz and N'co.
Aloha Kal! I thought that was your liter of Baileys stuffed in the front of your trousers!...no?!!!
Hey!!! I was just happy to see everyone!

Pssst in your carryon isn't an aerosol, it's a liquid.
It turns into an aerosol when you spray it from the can. Shake the can and you'll feel/hear the liquid inside.
Are they going to increase the allowed baggie size? They could allow 55 gallon drums on board and it wouldn't do us any good if we still had to shove it into that tiny bag.
I don't ever travel with full sized products but you can't even carry travel size containers right now. Even they are too large. And that quart size baggy--I'm so thankful we won't be restricted to just what it will hold.
Connie, no offense, but if you don't need full sized ones, you aren't traveling for long enough!
Since I'm in the habit of checking one small suitcase, it really won't make a difference to me personally. But hopefully one less thing to hold up the lines at security in airports.
YAHOO!!! FINALLY!! Speaking as a Texas gal whose hairstyle requires aerosol hair spray, I am SO happy! I've tried at least 5 different kinds of travel-sized hair spray and NONE worked as well as my big Matrix aerosol.
That's good news. I was starting to get a bit rank by the 3rd day of vacation without my deodorant.
I thought your post was about you being happy that you can take Yoo-Hoo in your carry on.
Judging from your screen name I would think you would recognize a Texas way of shouting for joy. Some people say Ya Hoo but now it sounds like you are talking about an internet search engine when you say that!
Call me crazy, but I didn't think this was such a bad idea. Having a restriction on liquid sizes greatly cuts down on weight and saves fuel for the airlines. How often do you need a FULL bottle of shampoo on a trip? Or a big bottle of lens cleaner? Who needs to carry all that extra weight?
If you travel a lot you have this down to a science and it's not a big deal.
Now, if they make us stop taking off our SHOES I will be happy!
flygirl,
It's not just toiletries that people may want to carry, but (as mentioned above) wine or other bottles of beverages.
I Dallas wee say YEEEE-HAW!
Yoo-Hoo is more of a greeting my Mom used to say when we would walk into my Granny's house... or when we were calling out, looking for someone.
Or the drink
I check the wines or ship them home - haven't had a problem.
If this is only the TSA that is changing the rules, it won't make a difference coming home from an international trip. Coming home from California with wine would be easier though, true.
I can think of three reasons why it's beneficial to bring a bottle of wine on board:
1) It's illegal to ship wine to certain U.S. states.
2) I would never check a bottle of wine in my suitcase...unless I wanted a "merlot" wardrobe.
3) Flights are long. Wine is good.
Hooray - recently I had three snow domes confiscated at JFK, souvenirs of New York for my grandaughter in Australia. Silly me had them in my hand luggage so they wouldn't break not even considering the liquids ban. I put all other liquids in the checked in bag!!! I was SO upset and I think the security guy was embarrassed and felt sorry for me!! SJF
