Looks like there still some cabins available in the park, while all the hotels are fully booked. But I heard that it may be too cold in the cabins at the end of May - is it true ? And what, in general, are pros and cons of staying in a cabin ?

Pros- cabins are quieter and more private. The walls in most National Park lodges are very thin. I like either one just fine. Take whatever you can get and go when you have a chance. I don't think they had much snow this year, so perhaps the roads will all be open by then. Which cabins are you looking at Roosevelt, Old Faithful, Canyon, Mammoth, or Lake?
Here are current road conditions and scheduled opening dates.

Tetons are worth some time as well.
I was looking at Moose Crrek Cabins, but apparently they are in (or close to) the town, West Yellowstone.
Still not bad, but I would rather be "in park", right where the action is. Check to see what roads are open as that might be a negative idea, if you had to drive way way around to get to where you wanted to be in the park.
