Yankee's Tickets
Which ticket agency is the best resource for Yankee's tickets. Looking for tickets for this weekends game. Is scalping legal, and ticket purchase at the gate common at Yankee stadium?

I often purchase tickets minutes before the game from "scalpers" outside the stadium. (Head to the sports bars beneath the 4 train.)
Usually I pay below face value, and I've never bought a fake ticket, although I have heard stories.
Another option is to check craigslist.
Go Yankees!

We've had good luck buying tickets from "scalpers" the day of the game and on e-bay. Not sure of the schedule, but if it's not huge rivalry (like the Red Sox), you should be ok. Wish I could say the Yanks were ok these days.

Scalping is illegal in New York. You can often find tickets outside before game time - they are usually not fake - but there are no guarantees. And the price/availabiity varies a lot.
If you want to get tickets ahead of time go to stubhub.com - they are reliable and their prices are usually not quite so bad as some of the other scalpers.
But realize that for Red Sox tickets you will have to pay at least double or triple the face value. (In 2004 we got playoff seats for about $600 each for a $96 ticket - but regular season rates usually aren;t as bad.)

This weekend IS the Red Sox-Yankees and these tickets go for huge premium. Do not know about street scalpers in NYC, but last weekend same opponents at Fenway resulted in newspaper articles about number of scalpers arrested.
Most major league teams have a very limited number of same day tickets available (if game is sold out) but, again, for this series, I would not hold out hope.
I think you are going to have to go with ticket broker.
