Worst Longest Yard Sale

Just completes the September 2011 Route 31W Louisville to Nashville Yard Sale.

DON'T GO..we had gorgeous weather and drove over 600 miles 1 way for this sale. We are re-sellers who are very experianced "Junk Pickers".
98% of the people in the towns we drove thru had NO IDEA what the Longest Yard Sale even was. People said they never heard of it......
If you were looking for childrens clothes, toys or just plain garage crap have at it.
Poorly marked small signs,leading to sales that did not exist, sales that were cancelled or moved to address in developement you could not find, sales so far off the main route you needed a overnite to get back. Otis who ever you are, the contact on the webb site Shame Shame..you were not even in your home state for the sale.
Disappointed..Disgusted is more like it..all The hype and hoop dee doo...What a load of rode apples!!! The site shows photo's that depict a lively imaginiation.
We drove up and down that route 31W for 4 days Thursday thru Sunday and believe me if there was any sale along the way we did not miss it.
Some of the junk w/ sellers who couldn't even get off their behinds from the front porch w/ stuff better left for Mondays garbage collection!!!
Otis take your site down it gives very poor information.
We found quality selections @ the local Thrifts and Peddlars Malls.
Would we ever do it again NO..did we feel it was misrepresented YES...people were very nice but you needed a scout w/ binoculars to see the signs and when you got to the sale it was old tired left over from last year junk...or a pro who picked last years sale and saved to re price and sell this year!!!
Where was the big communty sales??
Where were those fair like atmosphere and music local crafters, /bar /b /que stands??Where were the sales lining the sides of the roads??
I racked up 1700 miles came home w/ booty from Fiestaware outlet that trumped the crap I bought and stuck in my hauler.
Otis stick to sitting on the porch and dreaming, cause this was one gigantic nightmare.
