Wine Clubs?
Hi folks,
I'd like to sign my brother who lives in Alameda (Bay Area-- CA) up for a wine-of-the-month club for his x-mas gift. I live in Los Angeles. I read up a bit about shipping laws, and it seems CA has some limitations, but I'm guessing that in-state shipping isn't illegal.
Anyways, the point of my post is to ask if anyone can recommend a good wine club? Moderately priced, say $15- $20/month. He's a VERY stressed out public school teacher (middle school) and after talking to him tonight, I knew what to do for his gift this year!
I'm about to go over to Gourmet's website and see what's there, but I thought I'd ask here first.
Thanks!

I found Vinesse through the Northwest website (they offer bonus miles when you order through their World Perks mall). The wines we received every other month were very good and were not available to us locally. If you're interested, here is the website:

I haven't tried them yet but I'm going to....http://www.vindepayswines.com . They look to have a unique variety of wines with an under $15 price range. I didn't see a monthly shipping option, but you could ask.

Or..one of my favorite wineries is Lazy Creek in Sonoma. They are seldom in the stores, make fabulous wine(particularly Pinot Noir) and are some of the nicest people in the industry. It's a very small winery with a great newsletter. We've sent wines from them for wedding presents which were well appreciated.

Disclaimer: friends of ours are the owners. It's an amazing wine club, though. http://www.napawineco.com/

Thank you so much, everyone!! What great selections!
I googled last night and found some so-so options, none of those listed here, though. I'm gonna check out all your ideas!
Many thanks-- he NEEDS a drink!
