DH and I will be staying at The Allison Inn in Newberg, OR (outside of Portland) in July and would like to tour some wineries -- we love Oregon pinot noirs! Wanting to enjoy the tour and not worry about driving ourselves, we'd like to take a private tour with a driver. Any suggestions?

Take a look at www.anoseforwine.com. We met the owner a couple years ago when we were at a winery and he was there with his small group. His group comes here every year to visit the wineries over Memorial Day Weekend and they have used several guides and said he was by far the best they had come across, FWIW. We spoke to him for a while, and loved his approach. He takes his clients to the smaller places usually, and shows them our "hidden gems". We have a couple hundred wineries right around here, so you can imagine how hard it is to narrow it down. Anyway, we have not personally used him since we live right here, just a few minutes from many of the wineries, but from what his clients and several winemakers we know have said about him, I would go for it.

BTW, if you enjoy spas at all, the Allisons is very nice. I have been a regular since they opened
