Wicked seats
I've read recommendations that it's best to sit at Row 6 or behind for Wicked. The price for Row 3 center seats are $71 dollars less each than Row 6. I'm having a hard time imagining that there is that much difference. Any opinion on sitting this close?

It's a huge show, and it's a little hard to get a full perspective of the large stage from so close, but honestly, it is not that much difference if you are back three more rows. And anything you lose, can be made up for by being able to clearly see the faces of the performers -- something I really like.
For a savings of $71 a ticket -- I wouldn't hesitate to take Row 3.

Row 3 center? Jump on it!
It's a "big" show but virtually all of the show is front and center. There are only two fairly insignificant things you will miss if you are on a far side. Center? Snag those tickets!
I sat front row far right a few months ago. Actually, second row but so far right there were no seats in the front row. I could literally reach out and touch the set. I missed a couple of things but I'd seen the show so much it didn't matter. It was very exciting to be within arms reach of many of the actors. Your seats will be just fine. Enjoy my favorite show

It's going to be like watching a movie from the first or second row. Does that bother you? If so then these aren't the right seats for you. Do you like being close? If so then get these tickets.
But the price differential you describe is exceedingly misleading. The seats you descrube are likely premium seats, so they are abnormally expensive. Go back to row 12 and you will likely find the same prices as row 3 or just a bit more. This is a huge theater and a huge show. It's better from a bit further back.

Doug, I hate movies from the third row, but that's nothing at all like a play from the third row, in my book. Heads may be 12 feet across on a screen. They're normal size on a stage. And unlike a movie, movement is not overly "amplified" on stage making you dizzy from close up.
