If you want to stay at the Red Roof Inn or hotels on that level, log onto www.roomsavers.com The site always has coupons for basic hotel nation-wide.

I've used Red Roof when I'm on a real budget trip and find them clean and comfortable. I've really never had any complaints. They are all pretty much the same, so you know what you are getting. As long as you know in advance that they are basic, you'll be fine. They are usually within walking distance of family restaurants.
Good luck.
Good luck.

When travelling and stopping for a night without advance reservations we have never had a problem stopping at a RED ROOF. They've always been vry clean, comfortable beds, and quiet. There's no coffee pots in the rooms but it's a lot nicer than Motel 6, Super 8, Quality, Ramada, et al.
One thing I always do when travelling, whether at an Omni, Westin, Marriott or Red Roof - I ask to see the room first. If it's not up to par - then request a different room or go elsewhere.

My guess is that moekay is really asking about a specific Red Roof, in an area s/he searched for. However, only once did I have an unpleasent experience at a Red Roof -- noise from a group of partiers. After the clerk said "nothing I can do" and I informed him that *I* would then call the police he took care of it.
I find them reliably consistent. No frills, but clean and affordable. I'm finding Motel6's now being upgraded (both are owned by Accor) to where I would choose them as well. I've not had the same luck with Super8 -- some have been great, but as mostly independably owned properteis, Super8, Days, BestWestern, etc., all seem to differ in quality much more widely than (mostly) corporate-owned Accor properties.

Blu - only because I see another post (mis-)titled "HOTEL" do I know you're asking about the NYC Red Roof. Located 2 blocks from Empire State Bldg at 6 West 32nd Street. Go to
http://www.redroof.com/reservations/...?innNumber=605
for more info. The internet is your friend - embrace it. Prices vary at many hotels from day to day ... go to the Red Roof's website and check for the dates you're interested in visiting.
When you do a search, then post a message, we have NO idea of where you were searching .. no one can tell reading this thread that you are interested in the NYC Red Roof -- you must be more specific in your requests, ok?
