Whittier vs. Seward Ferry

Could someone give me the differences between taking the ferry from Seward vs. Whittier to Valdez?

Besides the obvious difference in travel time, what are the pros and cons of each one.

Thank you.

The Whittier one is called the "26 Glaciers" tour, so you see a lot of those, but you do see wildlife as well. The fjords trip is wildlife plus glaciers. I enjoyed both and would do both again in a heartbeat.

Deborah, I think Internetwiz is asking about the ferry and not a tour.
Whittier-Valdez 7 hours every day in season
Seward -Valdez 12 or 15 once or twice a week in season. This one would be a way too long for us, 7 hours was almost too long

Pat:

You are correct. I read the post too fast. Usually people on this board are always aksing the difference between the 2 tours (Whittier & Seward). My mistake. I took the ferry from Ketchikan, so can't answer that question.

Also look at the schedules - sometimes the cross-sound trips to/from Seward leave or arrive in the middle of the night.

Some of the runs stop at Cordova; if you're interested in getting a bigger picture of Prince William Sound, a visit to Cordova is a must.
