Whitewater rafting-Truckee River

My friends and I(4 women late forties) are going on a white water rafting trip with Tributary Whitewater Tours up in the Truckee area.7 mile run with 2+/3+ grade rapids. Has anybody used this company or been on this rafting trip? Opinions appreciated. Thanks, gabbyhat.

From what I've seen of the Truckee (I've not rafted), I would call it more of a float than white water rafting. It's very a beautiful area, but not much of roaring river.

You are probably going out of the Truckee area on the American River. A work group did it last year and had a blast. It definitely was a wild ride though and judging by the photos, there were times that the participants totally disappeared under water. But everyone enjoyed it; athletes and non-athletes alike.

This might be the trip you are going on.

It's a 7 mile run. Looks like fun.

We've used Tributary on the American, both South and Middle Fork. We had some issues with the guide we had but I would probably use them again.

It definitely was a wild ride

It's not too wild if it's 2s and 3s. 4s and 5s sure, but 2s and 3s are even suitable for families with young kids.

Thanks. It's the Little Truckee River fork. You put in at Floriston for the 7 mile run. It's not the Truckee river float that goes to Tahoe City. I was just wondering if anybody had used the company and their experiences. Thanks.

Well I looked & looked but I couldn't find the trip report someone here wrote about this trip. I do remember that it was a family of 4, seemed like the kids were boys if I remember correctly, they had a great time and she even posted links to the pics that Tributary took of them on the trip. I wish I could find the report for you because I thought it was really good and descriptive.

Also here's a link to a coupon:
