Thinking of white water rafting near Beckley, WV on the lower New River in August, or waiting till Fall for the dam release of water for the Gauley river rafting. 4 adults.
Opinions? Would the summer one be too "tame" ?

I would call Class 6 River Runners and ask--I think they do both trips. We have rafted several times with them but in early summer.
We did not have a lot of snow here in Ohio and have had no rain. I don't think W. Virginia has had much rain either. I would imagine that the river will be low.
