Which Kimpton Hotel in New York City?

My husband and I are travelling to NYC in June. We have stayed in Kimpton Hotels across the country for many years. This is our first NYC trip. Which Kimpton Hotel is recommended. We have a very extensive itinerary so location is not necessarily our priority.

New York is about you - It is not about us. The chances of finding someone here who has stayed in each Kimpton in the city and can make your decision for you are slim and none. If you have an extensive itinerary, you won't be spending much time in the hotel.

I suggest you compare your itinerary with the hotel locations and amenities and come back with more specific questions stating your interests and needs.

Just had a look. Ink48 is new and very far west (11th ave.) Of the ones currently open, I'd pick the Muse. But the one about to open (Eventi) could be good. Just not sure when it's opening.

I've never stayed at a Kimpton in NYC, but love the Portland, Boston and SF ones.

My best friend loved the Muse. I don't think you can go wrong with Kimptons.

coxst08:

The Kimpton hotels in NYC currently open:
70 Park Avenue
The Muse
Ink48 (formerly the VU hotel)

I have stayed at 70 Park Avenue and would go back again. Very nice hotel with delicious coffee. Very polite employees.

I always check out reviews prior to booking on www.tripadvisor.com

Best wishes for a great time in NYC.

I've stayed at the Muse twice, once when it first opened, and once a year ago.

The last time there was construction going on which made our stay absolutely miserable. I can't tell you how noisy it was, day and night, as the absence of a building blocking the nighttime noises, and the construction during the day were deafening.

The Muse staff was not very sympathetic at all. They said things like, well, it's worse for us having to deal with it all the time, or, you should have asked before you made reservations!

So, ask about noise if you decide to go there. It may be finished by now.
