Which DT Seattle Hotel - Grand Hyatt or Sheraton?
Hi,
We'll be visiting Seattle in a few weeks and would like recommendations on which hotel to choose. One member of our group has limited mobility so we prefer a location that's not on hills or too far of a walk to shops, restaurants or public transportation. The Grand Hyatt is $40 more per night. There have been mixed reviews for the Sheraton so I would appreciate any information. Some of the sites we would like to see are Pike Place and the Space Needle.

I haven't stayed at the Grand Hyatt so I can't comment on that but I have stayed at the Sheraton and liked it. The location is great. Another hotel that is close to everything is the Mayflower Park. It is connected to the Westgate Mall and the Monorail and is close to other shops and restaurants.

The two hotels are only 2 blocks away from each other, so location is really a wash. I'd say the Grand Hyatt is a bit more elegant but the Sheraton is certainly a solid choice as well--they completed a renovation not too long ago so that may address the mixed reviews you've read.

They are both fine hotels, and very close to each other, as already mentioned. The Grand Hyatt is a higher class of hotel (I'm surprised it's not more of a difference in price actually).
If you want something a bit more central I think either Mayflower Park or the Warwick are a tiny bit more so (closer to shops and restaurants) but truly just depends where exactly you're going... they'd all work OK.
